Radical Housing Corp. is a social impact initiative that partners with homeowners to unlock the value of their home by building basement apartments. We will build the apartment at no out-of-pocket cost to the homeowner and manage the entire process from permits to finding tenants. Radical Housing will use licensed contractors to complete the job and will cover all the costs of constructing the unit.
Once the construction has been completed, we will pre-screen tenants who qualify for our affordable housing program and work with the homeowner to select the best tenant for their family. Radical Housing will manage the property and take care of the lease arrangements, so the homeowner doesn’t have to worry.
The homeowner will get a share of the monthly rent deposited into their bank account every month. This partnership will run for a pre-determined period (usually seven years), with the overall goal of providing sustainable affordable housing in your local community. At the end of this seven-year period, the agreement is complete, and the homeowner will have a fully remodelled basement without incurring any of the remodelling expenses. At that time, they can then decide if they want to continue renting and receive all of the rental income or use the space personally.
